Connonical Line Bundles in R1: The Mobius Strip

Steel

Mobius Strips are two-dimensional objects with only one boundary or side. In other words, if you walked forward on the surface of a mobius strip without turning, you would end up back at the starting point, but standing ‘upside down’ on the other side of the ground. Continue walking and you will end up back on the original side. To get a better idea, take a long rectangle of paper and give it a half twist. Then, tape the edges together.

This piece consists of 8 unique mobius strips that include extra twists, false twists, and self-intersecting surfaces.
